Résumé traduit
Translated abstract
We present the results of research aimed at underlining the long-term structural elements of an agricultural landscape. Our exploratory research is based on the crossed results of two different approaches, landscape ecology and archeogeography, which are two emerging fields that focus on landscape patterns as a main source of information. Specifically, we tested corridor concepts in a small watershed that has been shaped by crop fields and woods. The analysis of recent air photographs shows that (1) the patch landscape is formed by morphologic corridors involving field pattern, road system and river corridors; (2) ecological corridors (mainly small woods), temporary pastures and dairy farms are fitted into these morphologic corridors; and (3) the landscape pattern has hardly changed since the beginning of nineteenth century, despite a consolidation of farm holdings that took place in 1981. The concept of morphologic corridor is briefly discussed and its interest for sustainable land planning is pointed out.
